OTTAWA – The National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) applauds the government’s efforts to introduce encouraging initiatives for the Canada Student Loans Program.
The government took a very positive step in the Budget when it announced changes to the Canada Student Loans Program.
NACC is pleased to see that the government is following-through on its important commitment made to students in the first version of this budget presented in March 2011. Students were hoping for positive news from the government, and this government has delivered.
The government’s proposal will allow more students to access post-secondary education training.
“These changes will help single parents to obtain the training needed to get more meaningful jobs, post-secondary students to get the education they need to have their first job and people who recently lost their jobs to get retrained to reach new opportunities,” said Dr. Michael McAllister, NACC’s president.
NACC hopes the majority government will pass the Budget as quickly as possible in order to support Canadians who deserve meaningful employment and who would benefit from these measures.
